Maintenance Worker

The City of New Ulm is currently accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Worker in the Street Department. This position is responsible for assisting with the repair and maintenance of city streets, storm and sanitary sewer systems, signage, boulevard and landscaped areas, trees, cemetery operations, and other City-owned properties, facilities, and equipment. Duties include asphalt, concrete, and gravel road repairs; winter snow and ice removal; equipment maintenance; and responding to emergency callouts as required. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three (3) years of experience in the construction trades (asphalt, concrete, and/or carpentry), a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and the ability to report to the Public Works Building within 30 minutes of call-out. A tanker endorsement is required within six (6) months of hire. This position is subject to federal CDL drug and alcohol testing requirements. Pay range is $28.39 – $36.45 per hour.
