Trip Details: We will meet in the CAST Senior Center parking lot at 12:15pm and carpool to Mankato for our 1pm tour. CAST is paying the admission for attendees, so this program is free. Open to the public, but pre-registration is required so we know how many will be attending. Register by calling 507-354-3212 (leave a message with your name, phone number, and if you need to carpool or will be driving separately. Tour should be about one hour. Join us as we tour the Blue Earth County History Center Museum. The Center showcases items from the Society’s collection and reflects the rich heritage of Blue Earth County. Exhibits feature people, places, and events that shaped the county including Native American tools and artifacts, a diorama of downtown Mankato in the 1880s, a dugout canoe, an interactive Discovery Lab, and unique local items such as Marian Anderson fine art prints and a community art gallery. Hosted by the CAST Senior Center, CAST Educational Programs were developed to reach a wide audience of senior citizens, providing a variety of interesting subjects via in-person presentations and experiences. Scheduled year-round, we host programs at the CAST Senior Center, but also travel to area libraries, museums, places of interest, and other Senior/Community Centers in our area to introduce Seniors to the many program opportunities that are available. Our programs are open to the public and there are no membership dues. Unless noted, the programs are provided free and no preregistration is required. Carpooling is available for out-of-town trips. Check out our program schedule every month and join us for our next event. We look forward to seeing you!
