Horses, Horseshoes, Leather and Ropes
.Learn about different types of transportation and necessary supplies in the 1870s when the Harkin Store was a bustling general store. In addition to the store, the town of West Newton had two blacksmiths, a wagon shop, a molasses press, hotel, private school, saw mill, flour mill and boarding house. Hear about the town's history and join leatherworker Dan Cochran who will have a display of his wares. Also, ropemaker Thane French will demonstrate his craft and lead a ropemaking activity.
