Harkin Store Flag Day Display
Our flag program will be on June 10, from 1 to 4 pm. We, at the Harkin Store will be
honoring the flag with information and a display of a very early flag. How did the flag start? How has the flag evolved? What does the design of the flag mean? What did the flag of 1870's look like? Our program will answer those questions.
The Harkin Store is open from 10 to 4 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with programs on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 pm. The admission to the programs is included with the admission to the store. You will see and hear about the 1870's general store with 40% original merchandise still on the shelves and the village of West Newton.
Our gift shop is open the same hours as the store and has books, toys, unique and hand crafted items, also 10 cent candy.
The store is located nine miles northwest of New Ulm on Nicollet County Road 21, or the bottom road, or nine miles east of Fort Ridgely.
