Led by local writer Michael Nemer, these sessions will include guided instruction, personalized coaching, and encouragement in a supportive, judgment-free setting. Whether you’ve never written a story or you’re simply looking to rediscover your voice, this workshop offers a gentle entry point into storytelling. Registration is just $3 for the 4-week series. Flash fiction is a bite-sized form of writing, distilling plot, character, and emotion into just a few paragraphs. It’s a perfect form for beginners: quick to write, fun to experiment with, and deeply rewarding. Come with a notebook, an open mind, and a willingness to experiment—you just might surprise yourself. The goals of this workshop are: · Introduce the genre of flash fiction (narratives under 1000 words) · Introduce basic elements of storytelling and craft · Teach writing-process techniques, such as idea generation, planning, levels of revision, etc. · Support participants as they write a piece of flash fiction · Provide feedback on participants work (optional) · Provide a safe and encouraging space for participants to share their work (optional)
