Community Gardening
Katy Hemberger, manager of the New Ulm Community Garden, will present on gardening in a community garden. The New Ulm Community Garden is a collaboration with Putting Green and is focused on small-scale sustainable farming operations. Hemberger is passionate about bringing fresh, nutritious, quality produce to the local community through the Community Garden’s Plant-It-Forward plots, through which produce is grown and donated to the New Ulm Food Shelf and families in need. This program, which is free and open to the public, continues a series of classes that focus on health and diet, which are co-sponsored by New Ulm Community Market and Co-op, New Ulm Medical Center, and New Ulm Public Library.
