The Brown County Historical Society (BCHS) will hold its 95th Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 13th, 2025 at Turner Hall in New Ulm. The night will begin with socializing at 6 pm, followed by dinner at 6:30 pm. The business meeting will begin at 7 pm and the program will follow immediately after the business meeting.
Our featured speaker is Garrett Ebling. He will be presenting “Collapsed: A Survivor's Climb from the Wreckage of the Interstate 35W Bridge". On August 1, 2007, the Interstate 35W Bridge in Minneapolis collapsed beneath more than 140 commuters into the Mississippi River in a cloud of dust, smoke, and flame during the evening rush hour; Ebling was one of them. He tells the story that has been missing from the investigations and the political debates - the story of the survivors.
Tickets may be purchased online at https://www.browncountyhistorymn.org/programs-and-education/event-registration/ or in person at the BCHS at 2 N. Broadway St. in New Ulm, as well as by contacting 507-233-2616 or education@browncountyhistorymn.org.
