"Andrew Jackson" CAST Documentary Program
NOTE: This program runs 1.5 hours. Learn about our 7th President, Andrew Jackson. He was the first "common-man" President. Orphaned at 14, he became a lawyer with no formal education, an Army General with no military experience and President without being rich. Andrew Jackson was a hero to the common man but a demon to Native Americans`. Learn about his early life, his military life, and ultimately his Presidency. Meet the love of Jackson’s life. March with him into the battles, where he outsmarted the British in Louisiana and won every conflict. Andrew Jackson took control of Florida and made it a state, and was its first governor. He hated paper money yet he ended up on the $20.00 bill. Believing Washington was corrupt and needed change, he became the “people's president”, and people flocked to him at the White House.
